The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal (pictured), and the Yucatan Transportation Agency (ATY), inaugurated this new, fully sustainable and efficient mobility system, which combines the benefits of a streetcar with the flexibility of a bus.

This pioneering project for the aforementioned Mexican state will connect the Maya, Umán, Kanasín Train terminal, the UADY and Teya Engineering Faculty with the La Plancha park in Mérida.

IE-TRAM is part of the Metropolitan System for Friendly and Sustainable Mobility known as “Come and Go”, a passenger transport system that runs along six axes on more than a dozen routes throughout the city.

With an extension of almost 130 kilometers, it is expected to carry more than 500,000 passengers weekly.

The importance of our Smart Solutions

This major project highlights the integration of GOAL SYSTEMS' cutting-edge experience with innovative and intelligent products to improve the service, efficiency and durability of the units. Thanks to this, we facilitate the transition to cleaner and more competent mobility.

A fundamental aspect of the IE-TRAM lies in the optimization of its charging infrastructure, both night charging and fast charging pantographs, to achieve a range of up to 300 km per day for the units.

All of this is possible because of our electric fleet module, which has been designed to address the future challenges of electromobility.

Improving the quality of public transport

The planning of different types of buses, the determination of the necessary capacity of the charging points, the management of battery autonomy and the control of charging times, become perfectly coordinated elements to achieve optimal and environmentally friendly operation.

In addition, as part of the implementation of this project, we have initiated the training and training of ATY operating personnel.

The objective is to improve the quality of public transport, covering the principles of accessibility, sustainability, efficiency, safety, multimodality and customer service, substantially improving the mobility offer of the Yucatecan population and protecting the environment.
